If you've loitered around any of my books or social media enough, you'll already know that Firefly was my inspiration for writing my Atrophy series. The influence is apparently obvious to my readers who are also fellow fans -- many people have written reviews stating that life on board the Imojenna fondly reminds them of Serenity and her crew. But as a few reviewers have pointed out, its not a carbon copy and many of my sci-fi TV show influences have apparently bled through to give the Atrophy series its own unique flavor.
What many of you may not know, however, is that in 2019, the highly anticipated book featuring Rian and Ella will finally be coming out. I'm working on this book with mixed feelings. It will be the last book in the series as we currently know it. As they say, all good things must come to an end. But I'm hoping Atrophy will soon take on new life in new mediums, and I have the beginning of a plan to continue the book series in a different way that I can't say too much about at this stage. Once that's set in stone, I'll be sure to announce all the details.
With all that in mind, I've decided to bring things full circle, so to speak. It's been a number of years since I watched the Firefly series and Serenity movie, so over the holidays I'll gradually be doing a rewatch and tweeting my thoughts. I'll compile and post the tweets here on my blog and on my Tumblr page after, so if you don't follow me or don't have Twitter, you won't miss out on my ramblings.
And don't forget I'm running a month-long giveaway for all 4 books in the Atrophy series. See below for details on how to enter.
